AccessLex Institute (the "Company") offers full-time employees a generous benefits package that includes medical and dental insurance coverage, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement accounts, health club reimbursement, tuition assistance, wellness benefits and more. The information below is only a brief summary of the Company's benefits.
Medical, Dental and Vision
Employees are offered a comprehensive medical plan that includes medical and prescription coverage through a PPO. Primary care – $10 copays; Specialist - $20 copays; preventative care for adults/children – 100%; inpatient hospital - $50 copay per day/max. 3 copays per admission; outpatient hospital service – 100%. Prescription copays - $20/$40/$60.
The dental plan offered covers 100% of basic and preventive services at the dentist of your choice. Major and children’s orthodontic services are covered at 50%.
The vision plan includes thousands of providers. Every 12 months- exam - $10 copay; Every 12 months for prescription glasses- $25 copay with $130 allowance for selection of frames or contacts; Laser vision correction- average of 15% off regular price or 5% off promotion price.
Employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverage the first day of the month immediately following the date of hire. Employees contribute to the medical, dental, and vision coverage each pay period on a pre-tax basis.
Medical Spending Accounts
The medical spending account allows employees to contribute pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical expenses not covered under the medical plan, including co-pays, deductibles, etc. The maximum allowed amount for 2017 that each employee can contribute per year is $2,600. Employees may carryover up to $500 into the next plan year.
Dependent Day Care Spending Account
Employees are eligible immediately to contribute pre-tax dollars for eligible dependent day care expenses, up to a maximum of $5,000.
Garage Parking (WC ONLY)
Employees are provided free garage parking – 1 ½ blocks from the corporate office.
Transit Spending Account (DC ONLY)
The transit spending account allows employees to contribute pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible transit expenses (train pass, bus pass, and metro) up to $175 per month.
Parking Spending Account (DC ONLY)
The parking spending account allows employees to contribute pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible parking expenses up to $175 per month.
Health Club Reimbursement
After six months of employment, employees are eligible for reimbursement up to $200 per year for membership at a health club.
Life Assistance Program (LAP)
The Company provides employees with access to counselors 24 hours a day to aid with any legal, financial, childcare, elder-care or other family/life issues and problems.
The Company is excited to provide a wide array of discounts up to 60% on various wellness programs and services ranging from Weight Management and Nutrition, to Vision and Hearing Care, and Tobacco Cessation.
The will preparation program is a simple on-line tool that assists you and your family to plan and protect your financial future. This tool allows you to build a state-specific customized wills and other legal documents (living wills and powers of attorney).
Secure Travel provides special assistance for emergency medical, financial, legal and communication assistance when you travel. This program gives covered individuals access to a travel assistance customer service center from anywhere in the world when traveling at least 100 miles from home.
Identity Theft Protection
The Identify Theft Program provides employees with access to personal case managers who give step-by-step assistance and guidance to individuals who have has their identity stolen. This program provides valuable resolutions services, including real-time support all over the world, assistance with credit card fraud, and help with emergency travel arrangements.
Health Advocate helps you and your entire family to navigate the healthcare system and maximize your healthcare benefits. Health Advocate helps find the right doctors, facilitate appointments with providers, helps to resolve insurance claims issues, assist with eldercare, assist in transfer for medical records and locate and research the newest treatments for a medical condition.
Disability and Life Insurance
The Company covers the full cost of both short-term and long-term disability insurance, as well as life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Employees are eligible for each of the coverages listed below the first day of the month following the date of hire.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
The Company provides short-term and long-term disability coverage for 60% of an employee’s current base salary in the event of a disability - short-term disability is paid at 60% of the employee’s salary up to $2,000 a week for 25 weeks; long-term disability is paid after 180 days of short-term disability at 60% up to $7,500 per month.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
The Company provides Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance coverage equal to two times an employee’s base salary, up to a maximum benefit of $500,000.
Additional Life Insurance
Employees may purchase additional Life and AD&D coverage for themselves (up to 5 times an employee’s base salary, up to a maximum of $500,000). Life coverage for spouses and children may also be purchased (spouse coverage amount may not exceed employee amount and children amount may not exceed $10,000).
403(b) Retirement Plan
Employees age 18 or older are eligible to participate immediately upon employment. Eligible employees may elect to defer a portion of salary, on a pre-tax basis, to the plan, selecting from a choice of investments.
After one year of service, the Company automatically contributes an amount equal to 6% of an employee’s base salary to investments of the employee’s choice. In addition, the Company will match up to 2% of an employee’s contribution to the Retirement Plan after one year of service.
After one year of service, employees are eligible for up to $7,500 per calendar year of undergraduate tuition reimbursement and up to $10,000 per calendar year of graduate tuition reimbursement.
After three years of employment, the Company will contribute $3,000 per term — maximum $6,000 per calendar year — for each dependent child attending a college or university, up to a cumulative maximum of $50,000 per employee.
Matching Charitable Contributions
The Company will match 50% of donations employees make to IRS-recognized, tax-deductible entities, up to $2,000 per calendar year.
